Travel insurance
For your personal safety, we require all guests to have travel insurance with medical evacuation coverage. In the case of an emergency, we will help you contact your insurance company.
First aid
Our resort is equipped with a comprehensive medical kit, our team can treat most minor injuries, including stitches on location. We also have a nurse on call for any mild injuries / illness that can attend to our guests at the resort. However, should a more serious accident or illness occur, we will arrange for transportation to the mainland, Padang where necessary medical attention can be provided by both government and private institutions.
When our guests are surfing, we have our aluminum boat in the water and a staff member on standby should any emergencies occur while guests are surfing.
Tsunami
The Mentawai Islands are situated in an area subject to seismic activity. Kingfisher Resort is positioned at the base of a hill, we have an evacuation route up the hill located 200m from our Restaurant which is accessible by foot (upon arrival you will be given a tour). In the event of an earthquake and possible tsunami, guests will be guided to our designated meeting area in order to proceed up the hill.
